A flood watch has been issued for parts of North Alabama that include Madison, Morgan, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Colbert and Franklin counties. Rainfall overnight tonight and throughout the day on Friday could lead to flooding of low lying areas. We are expecting at least an inch of rain but if we get thunderstorms over the same area those areas could get up to two inches.
Temperatures will remain in the 60s this evening with scattered light rain showers tracking from south to north. Overnight tonight expect the rain to get a little heavier and more widespread. Temperatures will fall into the middle 50s. With clouds and widespread rain on Friday don’t expect the temperatures to be as warm. We will have highs closer to 60 Friday afternoon.
Saturday is looking a little wetter. In addition to seeing a few morning showers we could have one last round of showers later Saturday afternoon ahead of a weak cold front. Highs will reach the lower 70s Saturday and there will be some sunshine.
Sunday through Wednesday look dry with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Overnight lows will get back into the upper 30s and lower 40s.
Have a great night.
