A first alert weather day continues into the evening hours for locally heavy rain and strong gusty winds. Street flooding is the greatest threat for most of us today but if storms can make it in from the Birmingham area we could see some wind gusts reach 50 mph over NE Alabama this evening. Rain will move out of the Shoals by 10pm. Rain will move out of the Huntsville Metro area by 11pm. Rain will move out of NE Alabama by 12am.
Friday looks like a decent day after some morning drizzle. Afternoon highs will get close to 70. More warm air on Saturday with a chance for a few thunderstorms with highs once again near 70.
Sunday a stronger storm system will arrive and we could see a round of strong thunderstorms. Right now it looks like the greatest concern for severe storms will be along the Gulf Coast.
Cooler weather will arrive as we finish out the month of January.
