Temperatures are on the move once again this weekend. After a cool start to the day, expect to reach 80 degrees by lunchtime with highs near 86 today with southwest winds at 5-10 MPH.
These temperatures are well above normal for late October. In fact, record highs of 86 in Huntsville and 88 in Muscle Shoals may be tied or broken today.
The persistent heat through the fall months adds to the worsening drought for our area. The latest drought monitor shows how the lack of rainfall is having an impact on local vegetation and the start of wildfires. A 'No Burn Order' remains in place due to the drought emergency.
Meanwhile, expect upper 80s for Halloween on Monday along with a dry stretch throughout next week. A few rain chances are possible by the end of next week.
Have a great day!
