Scattered showers and storms will be increasing in coverage tonight before slowly tapering off after midnight. Although our severe threat is limited, a few storms may produce gusty winds and hail. Frequent thunder and lightning will also accompany most storms. Localized flooding could become a concern with heavy rains over already saturated soil. An isolated shower remains possible overnight and towards daybreak on Monday but the heavier rains should have tapered off by then.
Monday will be warm and humid again with scattered showers and storms developing during the afternoon. Highs will be around 80°. Daily afternoon hit or miss storms remain in the forecast through the mid week, mainly across northeastern Alabama, with gradually warming temperatures each day. By the late week and weekend, rain chances will become more isolated in nature, and highs will be approaching 90° over the weekend.
