Expect the sky to remain mostly clear tonight but the temperatures will drop quickly after sunset. By Midnight tonight we will be around freezing. Clouds will be on the increase throughout the day on New Year’s Day. Temperatures will reach the middle to upper 40s before the rain showers move back in Thursday evening. Rain and clouds will be with us into the weekend.
Our next weather maker will slowly move into the Southeast Friday night into Saturday afternoon. Expect widespread clouds and showers throughout the day on Friday. Temperatures will only make it into the middle 40s Friday afternoon with an east wind. The wind will shift to the southeast overnight Friday into Saturday and chances are we will begin the day Saturday with temperatures in the lower 50s. By Saturday afternoon a strong south wind will push temperatures into the lower 60s. It will be a muggy afternoon with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Right now it looks like any threat for severe weather is on the low side.
A cold front will move in Sunday afternoon and put an end to the rain and send temperatures back into the 40s for Sunday afternoon.
Happy New Year!
