Today will be a lot like Monday....warm and muggy, with just a few pop-up showers and storms this afternoon. WAFF 48 Pinpoint Predictor isn't too bullish on rain, showing only a few isolated spots of wet weather across NE Alabama by late afternoon.
Much of this rain dies out this evening, but a few more showers are possible after midnight. It appears that we'll dry out to start the day tomorrow, but additional showers and storms begin forming by late morning.
The coverage and intensity of the showers and storms will pick up as we head through the afternoon hours. Here's 3pm on Wednesday showing stronger showers and storms developing across NW Alabama.
The threat for a few stronger storms will continue into the early evening hours.
Storms will likely weaken after sunset and most of the rain will wind down by early Thursday morning.
A few severe storms are possible between 3pm and 9pm Wednesday, primarily near and west of I-65. The main threat is isolated damaging wind gusts between 60 and 70mph. Heavy rain of 1-2" is also possible in the stronger storms.
