We are tracking a strong storm system that will bring another change to our weather by Monday morning. It will be mostly cloudy tonight with temperatures holding in the 50s.
A south wind at 4-8mph will keep overnight lows in the upper 40s and lower 50s. It will be mostly cloudy Saturday with more scattered light rain showers possible. The wind will be increasing form the south throughout the weekend. Winds on Saturday will be 10-15. They will get a little gustier on Sunday with some wind gusts Sunday evening up to 25mph.
It will be a mild weekend with highs in the lower to middle 60s Saturday and closer to 70 Sunday. Ahead of a cold front Sunday evening expect to see more shower activity with some thunderstorms late Sunday afternoon and evening. Some of the storms could be strong with heavy rain and gusty winds. Right now it looks like any threat for severe weather will remain north of the Tennessee Valley and closer to the Great Lakes. You can keep up to date with all the shower and the thunderstorm activity on your phone or your tablet/iPad with the WAFF 48 Weather App.
The front will move through overnight Sunday into Monday. Most of the rain will be gone by sunrise Monday morning. Temperatures will return to the lower 60s and upper 50s Monday afternoon.
Cooler and drier weather will move in for the middle of next week.
Have a great weekend.
