After a soggy start, rain showers will slowly slide east throughout the day today. By lunchtime, most areas to the west of I-65 will be dry with some sunshine returning.
If you have any outdoor plans in and around the metro areas, it looks like we’ll start to dry out later this afternoon.
Northeast Alabama and southern middle Tennessee will stay pretty socked in with steady rainfall throughout the daylight hours before drying out this evening.
A Flood Watch is in effect for NE AL, including Dekalb, Jackson, Marshall, Madison Counties and Lincoln, Franklin, and Moore Counties in TN until 7am Sunday.
Additional showers are set to arrive by Sunday morning. Off and on, scattered showers will be possible throughout the day. No severe weather is expected but a few thunderstorms may contain heavy rain and some small hail.
