The weekend is here and we have warm weather for it. We also have a lot of clouds. Scattered showers will be possible Saturday and Sunday but the greatest concentration of heavy rain will be Monday morning.
4pm Temps this Friday afternoon.
An Arctic air mass is dropping south across the Central Plains this weekend and will make it into the southeast early next week. The cold front will slowly move into the Tennessee Valley Sunday night into Monday. Ahead of the front a large line of showers and thunderstorms will develop. Some of the storms will be strong with wind gusts 30-40mph early Monday but right now the threat of severe weather appears marginal right now. We will continue to monitor it over the weekend. Afternoon highs will be around 70 Saturday and Sunday with a gusty south wind at 10-20mph. Overnight lows will be in the 50s.
The front will move through on Monday. High temperatures for Monday will all be reached in the morning. We will begin Monday with temperatures around 60 degrees along with heavy rain and thunderstorms.
Rainfall totals will likely fall between one and two inches Sunday night into Monday afternoon. The front will move east and by the Noon hour on Monday temperatures in many areas will have dropped into the 40s.
A gusty northwest wind will move in directly behind the cold front. Overnight lows will be around freezing into Tuesday morning. Afternoon highs on Tuesday will not get out of the 40s.
Have a great weekend.
