We are tracking a cold front that will sweep across Arkansas late Sunday night and track across the Tennessee Valley Monday afternoon. Temperatures ahead of this front will warm into the 70s thanks to a breezy south wind Saturday and Sunday. No rain is forecast for the weekend. You will see increasing cloud cover Sunday afternoon.

By Sunday night a line of showers and thunderstorms will form along the Mississippi River and track east. This line of rain with embedded thunderstorms will move into the Shoals early Monday morning. At this time no severe weather is expected but locally heavy rain and strong gusty winds are possible. This will be a strong cold front.

The rain will track across the rest of North Alabama and southern Tennessee into the late morning and early afternoon hours on Monday. The high temperatures Monday will all occur during the morning hours with falling temperatures throughout the afternoon due to a strong northwest wind as the front passes by.
