We're seeing an active start to the work week with widespread rain last night and additional rain and storms expected through this afternoon. Severe weather is a possibility over most of Alabama and that does include areas here in north Alabama and southern Tennessee.
We're not expecting widespread severe weather, but some isolated severe storms are possible through late afternoon. The primary threats are damaging wind gusts and some localized flooding. There is a low end tornado threat within the threat area as well. The time frame for anything severe will be from around 2pm to 8pm.
Here's a snapshot of WAFF 48 Pinpoint Predictor at 3pm today showing some locally strong storms in the area:
Again, we're not expecting any widespread severe weather, but plan on staying weather area this afternoon. We'll be tracking any developing severe weather on-air, online at WAFF.com, and on Facebook and Twitter.
