Isaac is still causing trouble out there as it spins and even shifts southeastward towards us today. We still have warm moist and unstable air on top of us right now due to the fetch of Gulf moisture pushed this way from Isaac.
This unstable airmass along with a trough associated with the weakening remnants of Isaac will develop scattered to numerous storms across the Valley today.
Some storms may produce damaging straight-line winds, frequent lightning, torrential rainfall, and possibly an isolated tornado. For these possible threats today, the Storm Prediction Center has placed us in a Slight Risk for severe weather today.
