Strong to severe thunderstorms raced though the Valley early this morning. But that's not the end of it. A cold front to the northwest will spark additional showers and storms along and out ahead of it today. Some storms may be strong to severe. The main threat with any storms that develop will be damaging winds, lightning, and locally heavy rainfall.
The front moves through and stalls south of here over the weekend. But it may still be close enough to produce a few isolated rain showers. But don't cancel your weekend plans yet. Those rain chances are very small....and they stay small through early next week.
This cold front will be very similar to last weekends front as it brings our afternoon highs down a bit. We'll reach the low to mid 80s both Saturday and Sunday.
