The Storm Prediction Center has put much of the Valley under a slight risk for severe thunderstorms today. Some storms may produce strong gusty winds, hail, and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning.
Much of what we see today will be developing from across the Midwest down through our area. Movement of the storms will be from
northwest toward the south and southeast.
The threat for strong and even severe thunderstorms will not end when the sun goes down. In fact, we may well see the frequency of storms going up with more disturbances in the upper-level flow moving across the Tennessee Valley.
