This weekend will be typical for summer with hot and dry weather continuing through Sunday. Afternoon highs will be in the mid and upper 90s. Heat index values may reach above 100 by Sunday afternoon! So be careful in this heat. Drink a lot of fluids and don't over exert yourself. It's easy to fall victim to heat exhaustion in this kind of weather.
Further to our south, we're tracking what's going on in the Gulf. What may become Tropical Storm Debby is developing right now. Some weather models have this system moving north and east over the coming days. This would take it over Florida and away from us. There is a chance, however, that it moves further west and north. If this happens, our rain chances will go up sharply. So we'll be monitoring the Gulf situation closely over the next 5 or 6 days.
But for now....we will be mainly hot and dry with very little rain chances through next week.
